Service Description

Visit the ruins of the deserted village of Ayios Sozomenos. Apart from the interesting history of the place, the area is also unique from an ecological standpoint. It is a Natura 2000 site, based on the variety of habitats that can be found there, which make it a magnet for biodiversity. More than 200 plant species have been recorded, including rare and endemic species of plants such as orchids. The cliffs of Ayios Sozomenos are also home to various birds, such as the Little owl (Athene noctua), the Barn Owl (Tyto alba), the Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) and the Long-legged Buzzard (Buteo rufinus)
